remodeling a bathroom?
here is a step by step guide on how we take your bathroom from
"meh" to "wow!"
🧼 Step 1: Kickoff Walkthrough & Demo Day
Before we swing a hammer, we’ll do a full walkthrough with you to:
•Review your design, layout, and fixture selections
•Talk about access, working hours, pets, and parking
•Protect floors and nearby areas from dust and debris
Then we carefully remove the old:
•Vanity, toilet, tub or shower, tile, and flooring
• Drywall as needed to install new fixtures
We haul everything away and clean up as we go. Your home stays livable and respected throughout the process.
🔧 Step 2: Plumbing & Electrical
Now we prep everything behind the walls. We:
•Make sure your pipes are up to code for your sink, toilet, tub, or shower
•Install or update electrical wiring for outlets, switches, lights, and fans
•Add in-wall support for future accessories like shower doors or grab bars
📋 City Inspections: We’ll pause here for plumbing and electrical inspections (required in California).
🕒 The inspection window is usually only known the day of, but don’t worry — you don’t need to be there. We’ll be on-site to handle it.
💦 Step 3: Waterproofing
This step is all about protecting your bathroom long-term. We:
•Install waterproof cement board (if needed)
•Apply waterproofing membrane to all wet areas
•Perform a flood test on the shower pan to ensure it’s 100% watertight
📋 Inspection Required: California requires a shower pan inspection before tile work begins.
🧱 Step 4: Framing, Drywall & Paint
If we built out any new walls or niches earlier, we finalize those now. Then we:
•Install moisture-resistant drywall where needed
•Tape, mud, and sand for smooth, clean walls
•Apply your selected paint color to walls and ceiling while the space is open and dust-free
📋 Some cities require a drywall inspection before moving forward — we’ll handle the coordination.
🧱 Step 5: Tile Time
Here’s where it starts to really shine. We’ll:
•Lay out and install your wall and floor tile
•Grout and seal it for a clean, lasting finish
👀 This is when you’ll see your design start coming to life.
🚿 Step 6: Fixtures Go In
Time to finish it off with all the shiny new stuff:
•Install vanity, faucets, toilet, mirrors, lighting, shower trim, and accessories
•Install baseboards
•We make sure everything is functioning and positioned perfectly
🏁 Step 7: Final Touches & Walkthrough
We wrap it all up, check the details, and walk it with you.
•Perform a deep clean of the space so it’s move-in ready
•Final city inspections for plumbing and electrical
•Conduct a full walkthrough with you to review the final space
•Create a “punch list” of anything small that needs to be adjusted
•Knock out the punch list promptly and confirm everything is complete
